Edward Macias, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Blue Mountain Psychiatry, proudly serving patients in Seattle, Washington. Originally from South Texas, Edward earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, setting the foundation for his passion for healthcare.

Edward continued his education at Walden University, completing a Master of Science in Nursing and graduating with honors. Prior to specializing in psychiatry, he honed his skills as an EMT, gaining invaluable experience in emergency care. He then spent over five years in critical care nursing, and he stays current on medical knowledge by periodically working critical-care shifts at the hospital medical center.

Edward brings a holistic approach to psychiatric care, leveraging his comprehensive medical background to understand patients’ unique medical histories that can be crucial to their overall treatment plan. Specializing in treating individuals across the lifespan, from adolescents to the elderly, he offers a full spectrum of psychiatric services. This includes psychiatric diagnosis, medication management, brief therapeutic communication techniques, evidence-based practices, and collaborating with other healthcare providers when necessary.

Outside of work, Edward embraces a diverse range of interests. He can often be found at live events like concerts, plays, and sporting events. Beyond his professional life, Edward enjoys the outdoors, especially skiing down mountain ranges—a passion reflected in the name of his practice. He also revels in the culinary arts, finding joy in both cooking and sharing new foods with others.
